TORONTO COMMUNITY GARDEN NETWORK

The Toronto Community Garden Network (TCGN) is working to encourage a healthy, vibrant community gardening movement in the City of Toronto, linking and supporting community gardeners. As of 2000 Toronto has 94 community garden sites The Network is sponsored by FoodShare and receives support from a number of other organizations. These include Evergreen, Greenest City, and the Toronto Food Policy Council.

TCGN hosts workshops on a variety of topics of interest to gardeners; sends out a regular email newsletter about gardening, the environment and food security issues; hosts special events such as our annual Seedy Saturday (March), community garden tour (July) and a harvest celebration (September); we also negotiate discounts with local garden retailers. We are also in the process of putting together a resource centre.

To join the Toronto Community Garden Network simply send an email to cgnetwork@foodshare.net with "Join TCGN" in the subject line and with your name, mailing address, and the name of the community garden you are part of in the body of the email.

You can also subscribe to the TCGN GARDEN NEWS - a email newsletter about gardening, local food events and more!

The Toronto Community Garden Network is supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
